Introduction: Gulu Film School is a film educational program that teaches aspiring and emerging filmmakers the various aspects of filmmaking concepts, including such course units as film production, film theory, digital media production, marketing, and distribution. We are dedicated to training emerging African storytellers to tell rich African stories and share them with their communities. The film school curricula incorporate these educational courses and hands-on technical training. The school provides youth, especially from underserved communities, with technical training, media literacy skills, and digital tools to leverage the creative process to interpret their role in their respective communities.

The technical training includes instructions in the use and operation of scriptwriting, cameras, lighting equipment, film editing equipment and software, and other relevant equipment. We also have courses and training in subjects such as photography, television production, broadcasting, audio engineering, and animation. The students create their film projects, develop team-building, leadership, and entrepreneurship skills, and learn how to use technology to create, share, and promote their brands. A lot of people each year strive to sharpen their dreams of becoming actors, screenwriters, producers, or directors. Most of them, if not all, will need to learn from a film school and Gulu Film School will provide them with the opportunities to realize their dreams.
